This policy explains how PawStars (“we”, “us”) uses personal information when you visit paw-stars.com, create an account, place an order, or contact us. We are based in the United Kingdom and handle personal data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

PawStars provides personalised pet portraits and made-to-order gifts. For privacy matters, contact support@paw-stars.com.

We do not sell your personal information.

Information we collect

• Account and contact details — name, email address, phone number and password when you register or check out.
• Order and delivery details — billing and shipping address, items ordered, artwork choices, and payment status.
• Pet photos and artwork — the photos you upload and the personalised artwork we create from them.
• Messages — emails, contact-form messages and notes you send us about an order.
• Technical data — IP address, browser type, and pages visited, including via cookies described in our Cookie Policy.

If you buy through Etsy, we also receive the order, delivery and contact details Etsy shares with us so we can fulfil that order.

How we use it

We use this information to:

• take payment, create your artwork, fulfil your order (print and ship physical items, or email a download for digital products);
• send order emails (confirmation, photo upload, artwork proof, dispatch and download);
• provide customer support;
• improve the website and keep it secure;
• meet legal, tax and accounting duties.

The legal bases we rely on are performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and protecting the shop, and legal obligations. Where we use non-essential analytics cookies, we do so as described in the Cookie Policy.

Who we share it with

We only share what is needed to run the shop:

• Stripe — to take card payments. We do not store full card numbers.
• Our print partner (Prodigi) — name, delivery address and print-ready artwork so they can manufacture and ship physical products. We do not send digital-download orders to Prodigi.
• Amazon Web Services — to store photos and artwork files securely.
• Email providers — to send order and support emails.
• Google — Analytics (site usage), Google Ads (conversion and remarketing), and reCAPTCHA (spam protection on some forms).
• Ideal Postcodes — optional UK address lookup at checkout.
• Image tools — to generate and clean up your personalised artwork from the photo you provide.
• Etsy — if you buy there, Etsy processes that checkout; we receive the details needed to fulfil the order.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep order, customer and artwork records for as long as needed to fulfil the order, handle support, and meet tax and accounting rules (typically up to six years for transaction records). Pet photos and generated artwork are kept while they are needed for your order and any reprint. You can ask us to delete photos that are no longer required for an open order.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to receive it in a portable format. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Our shop is aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do.
